ABOUT PRICING

Why do you work mostly fee-for-service?

My fee-for-service model exists because the kind of care I offer requires the conditions that make it possible. The structured, evidence-based work I do with adults navigating cultural identity, neurodivergence, trauma, and anxiety demands genuine clinical preparation, continuity, and focus. Insurance reimbursement rates are calibrated for high-volume, brief-contact care. That model is not compatible with the depth of work I believe my clients deserve.

I made a deliberate decision to build a practice around quality over volume. I offer services on a fee for service basis to allow me to show up fully prepared for every session, maintain a caseload I can hold with care, and offer the kind of therapeutic relationship where real progress is possible.

For self-pay clients, I provide monthly superbills via email so you can seek reimbursement through your out-of-network PPO benefits, which, for many clients, meaningfully offsets the out-of-pocket cost.

Access to mental health care is a value I take seriously. I do reserve a small number of spots for clients using insurance. You are welcome to connect with me to find out about this option.

Finances are a real consideration. If you have questions, please reach out. I am glad to help you explore your options.

USING YOUR OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS

Can I use my insurance even if you're out-of-network?

Possibly — and it is worth checking before you assume the answer is no.

If you have a PPO plan with out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse a significant portion of each session. Here is how it typically works:

1
You pay my fee at the time of service. I collect payment directly — I do not bill your insurance.
2
I provide you a superbill. This is a detailed receipt with the diagnostic and billing codes your insurance requires to process a claim.
3
You submit the superbill to your insurer. Most plans allow you to do this through their member portal or by mail.
4
Your insurer reimburses you directly — often 50–80% of their allowable amount once your out-of-network deductible is met.

Reimbursement varies by plan. Some clients recover $80–$150 per session; others recover more.

You can check your specific benefits in under a minute using the widget below. However, call your carrier and speak to a representative to confirm directly what your OON benefits are.
